The Independent Venue Roadshow (IVR) provides event professionals with the opportunity to meet and research independently owned hotels and venues to add to their little black books.
The Bull Hotel in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire which is part of the Sarova portfolio of hotels is hosting the next Independent Venue Roadshow in November. We speak with Jenny Allan, Cluster Director of Sales at Sarova Hotels about what you can expect from the event and what it is like to be part of the Independent Venue Roadshow.
1. What can you tell event planners about The Bull Hotel?
The Bull Hotel is a peaceful, 4-star hotel in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire offering free WiFi, full English breakfast, landscaped gardens and an award-winning restaurant and bar. Opened in 1688 as a coaching inn, the picturesque hotel combines warm British hospitality with modern comforts.
Over the last 18 months the hotel has undergone major investment in refurbishing the bedrooms and meeting spaces and now offers 147 bedrooms and 13 meeting rooms. The Bull is a popular hotel for conferences in Buckinghamshire and can host from two to 220 guests. Four flexible event suites can divide into 13 separate, soundproofed meeting spaces to meet any client’s needs. Landscaped gardens provide the perfect backdrop for photos, receptions, barbecues and team-building activities.
2. What is the one fact buyers or event planners should know about The Bull Hotel?
Our location! With direct access via the Chiltern Line in just 15 minutes from London Marylebone, just 10 miles from Heathrow Airport and superb motorway links to the M40, M25, M4 and M1, The Bull also offers great transport links and on arrival there are 150 complimentary car parking spaces.
3. The Bull Hotel has recently undergone a major refurbishment, can you give us more details.
Yes, over the last year The Bull Hotel has undergone a £1 million investment to update its meeting spaces and 20 bedrooms. All our meeting spaces now have ‘WePresent’ AV offering state of the art technology in bright and modern surroundings. We have also recently installed complimentary mini-bars into all our bedrooms.
4. What are the benefits of being part of the current IVR programme?
The IVR provides a platform to network with multiple agents and event professionals in a short space of time which would normally take weeks of work. In this respect the IVR is invaluable to us as a business in showcasing our portfolio of hotels to event professionals. The CHS team make the whole process so seamless and it is also a great way to meet and network with industry peers.
5. At CHS we champion independent venues with the IVR programme. What do you personally think are the benefits of an event planner teaming up with an independent venue?
I believe that as an independent group of hotels we can offer our clients flexibility in how we deal with requests as we are not governed by red tape which a lot of the larger hotel chains are. All our hotels have lots of character and are run by dedicated teams who strive to meet the needs of our clients.
