Spotlight Blog Interview with Naomi Phillips - Grovefield House Hotel

Grovefield House Hotel in Burnham, Buckinghamshire which is part of the Classic Lodges portfolio of hotels is hosting the next Independent Venue Roadshow in October. We speak with Naomi Phillips, Group Sales Director of Classic Lodges about what you can expect from the event and what it’s like to be part of the Independent Venue Roadshow.

1. What do guests say they love most about Grovefield House Hotel?

Grovefield House Hotel has the ‘wow’ factor as it is set within seven acres of private scheduled grounds close to historic Windsor.  All of our 40 bedrooms and suites overlook the hotel’s grounds or gardens and the hotel has recently undergone extensive renovations on the ground floor which includes refurbishment of all the conference areas which all have natural light.  Grovefield House Hotel can host conferences for up to 150 and our grounds are perfect for team building activities in which we partner with the Off-Limits Group.

Guests also comment on the professionalism of our long-established team at Grovefield House Hotel who really go the extra mile for all our guests and give a very personal service.

2. What is the one fact buyers or event planners should know about Grovefield House Hotel?

Our location! We are just 5 minutes from the M4, 10 minutes from the M40 and just 25 minutes from Heathrow Airport and the M25.  You can also be in central London in under 45 minutes making Grovefield House Hotel the perfect venue for international and UK clients.

3. What is your favourite thing about being part of the current IVR programme?

I find sharing knowledge and best practice with the other independent venues/hotels involved in the programme really invaluable; it is really great to be able to share ideas and help each other out.

Making connections with the event professionals who attend and forging relationships with them of which we wouldn’t normally have access to is really invaluable. The confirmed reoccurring business that we receive from the Independent Venue Roadshows is a great boost to our business and helps us to promote the Classic Lodges unique collection of hotels.

4. At CHS we champion independent venues with the IVR programme. What do you personally think are the benefits of an event planner teaming up with an independent venue?

I believe we can offer a really personal touch which a larger hotel may not be able to offer.  Our general manager at Grovefield House Hotel gives a very professional and bespoke service to all of our guests, you are not treated as just a number.  As an independent venue we have more freedom to do things differently and can offer a flexibility to our clients which makes our offer unique.
