Go Ape! Coventry which is located beside Coombe Abbey Hotel has launched Axe Throwing, a fun and challenging 60-minute activity in the great outdoors, for those who want to get their lumberjack kicks in the forest.
Designed to offer a competitive ground-based activity which can be combined with time in the trees, Axe Throwing is perfect for those who want to try something completely different.
The activity adds a competitive element to a day out at Go Ape, located in Coombe Abbey, as individuals and groups are challenged to achieve the highest score. Following training to get to grips with throwing and getting the axe to stick, thrill-seekers will take part in a scoring tournament, known as Bowling, by throwing axes into a target.
Two different throwing lanes will be in action at once, and sessions can be adapted to cater to all abilities and expectations.
Luke Parker, site manager at Go Ape Coventry, says: “We’re so excited to be the first Go Ape site to offer Axe Throwing. It’s a unique experience and loads of fun and I know our visitors will love it. It’s a great activity to try with a group of friends and people get really competitive trying to hit the bullseye, and there are lots of laughs too. It offers visitors the chance to try something completely different and have fun in the process.”
Located within 500 acres of the historic woodlands of Coombe Abbey, Go Ape opened its Treetop Challenge for adults and teenagers in April, followed by its Treetop Adventure and Treetop Adventure+ for younger customers in May.
